Bringing Picasso and high-security data encryption channels together under the same roof. And that’s not easy.
In general terms, the art world appears to be quite separate from latest generation technology. But in real terms, artists and antiques dealers have to manage a great deal of information, and managing this information can be vital for optimising their business.
An example: working for an art and antiques auction company, we developed an IT system that enables them to administrate all areas of the business, from business relations with suppliers to a system giving real-time information on the status of auctions, customer and art works files, online catalogues, invoicing systems, and even a solution for managing automatic communications with potential customers (located in different countries) at key points in each auction process.
Before, all this used to be done manually with almost no IT resources, which used up a great deal of manpower and man-hours and was not very efficient at all. Today, absolutely everything is managed through an intuitive IT system (i.e. no computer skills needed to use it).
Making what is difficult and complex very straightforward and useful for everyone. This is what mrHouston considers as innovation.
